Welcome!
I never dreamed I'd be on a site like this.
I used to feel that way too. Now I can't imagine how I could have survived without a site like this!
this is my first post.
i never dreamed i'd be on a site like this.
i was baptized 43 years ago and pretty much have done and seen it all.
Welcome!

It's not enough that the religion reduces people in illustrations to livestock (sheep and goats), now they're demoted to being pieces of bread that can neither think nor move.
The real "take away" from Flodin's illustration is this:
im on my phone, so im really limited.
i came out to my family about my doubts and my sexuality.
shit hit the fan.
Hey Magotan! Thanks for checking in. I hope school is going well. Is graduation coming soon?
I'm approaching my three year anniversary of leaving the witnesses!
Sounds like something worth celebrating!
Weird. They use the example that Jesus never complained about injustices at the temple, but he was cooperative and worked with the system... except for the whole "stone will not be left upon a stone" thing where the Jewish system was destroyed and lots of people were killed/enslaved when he used the Romans to do the "complaining" for him. So Jesus wasn't a "complainer" when me made a whip and drove the money-changers out of the temple twice? Really dumb.
The sappy video at the end just makes me mad again because I grew up when WT "encouraged" the "blessings of singleness" because "the end is so near"... 30 years ago. And the couple in the video actually kinda reminds me of a friend I knew in bethel who got married a little before I left. They were there a few more years before they got kicked out in one of the rounds of layoffs. They settled not far away, but not in a very good situation. He killed himself a couple of years ago. Ugh, now I need some brain bleach.
hello all - i most likely won't post too often but want to introduce myself.
i've read this board for a long time and feel like i know some of you!
i was a third gen born-in (ne ohio), and half-heartedly believed until i was in middle school.
at the meeting sunday, the brother giving the "public talk" (no one from the public is ever there) was talking about how the organization is moving so fast.
as proof of this he held up the new field service time slip.
yep, that was plenty of proof for me, a smaller time slip to guilt the congregation to use their tablets in service to show video's.
In this age of jet and rocket travel, only JWs would brag about being as fast as a horse-drawn wagon.
From what I've seen, JWs have gotten slower. I used to see a few moving at Pioneer Shuffle pace. Now I only see them standing around litteratrash trolleys. I see those things have wheels, but I've never seen them move.
I think the only paper that might prove that these JWs are moving is some of this paper:
hi one and all.. i've lurked for 3 years, about time i signed up.. i'm a still in ms due to family.. fully awake.. i look forward to getting to know all of you..
hello and thanks to everyone for participating on this forum it has really been of much value, for those of you that post here know that your words are not lost you never know who is reading your expressions, lives are being changed and nonsense challenged.
i’m not much of a writer so excuse my untrained writing style and grammar but i want to share my story to help anyone who is visiting here to see that we are real people, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who have come here for answers, there is no agenda, just searching for truth.
i hope my story will help others as so many here have helped me..
Welcome Cain and thanks for sharing! Waking up to TTATT also involves a grieving process, anger, sadness, regret, etc.
The elders are trying to set you up with a CO shepherding call? Reminds me of the last CO that had a one-on-one visit with me while I was fading. Within 4 months of our conversation, he'd left the the road. He was so unhappy and seemed to be asking me for advice after my experiences as a bethelite and an ex-bethelite. I "encouraged" him to look for options where he could control his own life and future rather than to leave his fate completely in the hands of the often very fickle branch management. I tried not to be too obvious about finding options outside of being CO, but I suspect that he already was wanting to quit and I was the last little push. I'm not sure what happened to him after that. He was a nice guy... much too nice to be a CO.

once each year, the governing body writes a direct letter to the congregation members included in the yearbook.
in his annual message to the catholic faithful (urbi et orbi) delivered on christmas day, the pope spoke about world peace, terrorism, and the refugee crisis.
The prophet Isaiah humbly acknowledged that any success and prosperity that the Kingdom of Judah enjoyed was due only to the blessing of Jehovah. As we read at Isaiah 26:12, he declared: “O Jehovah, . . . everything we have done you have accomplished for us.” Reflecting on all that has been accomplished during the past service year causes us to make a similar admission.Jehovah is truly doing “wonderful things that have never been done” before! (Ex. 34:10) Just think of some of the blessings that we have received from his hand.
From this reasoning, shouldn't any success and prosperity enjoyed by organizations from Apple, Inc to Muslim extremists to Trump's presidential campaign be credited to Jehovah?
Compared to the accomplishments of all non-WT organizations, that list given by the GB is pathetically small. The Bronze Age desert god is struggling to keep up with the times.
